Can be done, but need hard parts too, 01-02 wrx ecu, need to change crank cam belt wheel to 01, and the left inlet cam wheel too, need 01 throttle body with it's IAC valve, gc8 is 4 wire, gd 1 wire, need to put o2 sensor in and run some wires,AFM and air box,coil packs , engine loom, disable the TGV, EGT, and re pin the wires to suit, be a PITA to do, but if you like wiring then no problems. I thought about it, best way was to fit a 01 on manifold with all sensors, loom and coil packs, the plugs at the battery are the same, just have to play with the pinouts, and then ecu plugs are the same, again play with pin outs there too.

If you do it record the pin changes as that would help me if i choice to do it
